The lodge is an overnight facility only and cannot be used for day use. Campers must check out with a Ranger.
At least one adult 18 or older, must accompany each camper/group.
Maple Hill Lodge is a historic landmark built in the 1930's. It is a wooden building with a single open room. There is no furniture, electricity, or showers. Campers must bring their own sleeping bags.
ALERT: The chimney needs repairs and therefore BOTH FIREPLACES ARE OFF LIMITS until further notice. Visitors can not make fires in the interior fireplace to heat the building, nor use the exterior fireplace on the porch for cooking. No open flames are permitted in the lodge. Cooking is not permitted in the lodge.
Any cooking must be done using a campfire in the designated fire pit on the front lawn
Alcoholic beverages, firearms (including fireworks) and other weapons are prohibited.
Key for Maple Hill Lodge may be picked up at the visitor center. Pickup time is 3:00pm Eastern Time. Please note that the gates are locked at night.
Pets are not allowed at Maple Hill Lodge.
Tents are not allowed
Unlicensed vehicles, motorcycles, golf carts, ATV's and mini-bikes are prohibited with the exception of mobility-aid devices used by a mobility-impaired person. All vehicles are prohibited from walkways, trails and other areas not designated for such purposes.
Maximum of ten vehicles (truck with trailer counts as 2 vehicles).
No electricity in the lodge or bathroom.
Bathroom is detached from the Lodge.
Alcoholic beverages, firearms (including fireworks) and other weapons are prohibited.

State vehicle and traffic laws are enforced, and the speed limit is 25 mph unless otherwise posted.
North Carolina state parks are wildlife sanctuaries; no hunting is allowed and collecting plants, minerals and artifacts is prohibited. State fishing regulations are enforced.
