Public Visitor Notice - Watkins Glen State Park
Effective July 7, 2025, the main tunnel entrance and Sentry Bridge at the beginning of the Gorge Trail will be closed due to construction. Access to the South Rim Trail will also be closed at the Main Entrance entry point, however, it will be accessible from all other entry points during this construction work. We anticipate being fully open for the summer of 2026.
Access to the Gorge Trail will still be available during construction via the North Rim Trail at the Main Entrance, South Entrance, or the North Entrance which will all be fully operational. Our shuttle service will be available during the summer season to transport visitors between the three entrance areas (additional fee applies).
The swimming pools, camping areas, welcome center, and gift shop/concession areas will all be operating as normal during the 2025 season.
We are working hard to minimize any inconvenience this may cause while this important construction work is ongoing.
