There are 2 passes available to gain access to Pawtuckaway.
Main Entrance Hiking/Boat Pass:: Fire Tower via Mountain Trail (4.4 mi. round trip), car top boat launch
Reservation Road Hiking Pass is now combined with Main Entrance Hiking Pass: Access to North Mtn., Middle Mtn., South Mtn., Fire Tower, Boulder Field and Round Pond
Beach Pass:Access to beach, playground and picnic area

Once you have entered this, continue down mountain road until you see a large brown sign on the left for Pawtuckaway State Park. The road starts in Raymond, NH and ends in Nottingham, NH
Alerts and Important Information

Park Information

Visitors should make a reservation before arriving at the park as parking is limited (especially on nice weekends and holidays). However, a limited number of walk-in spaces are available and visitors who do not make a reservation will be admitted on a first come/first-serve basis. Reservations can be made up to 30 days prior to arrival and no later than 5pm on the day of your visit.

Main Entrance Hiking/Boating Pass:

  • Pawtuckaway has a network of trails that make it easy to get lost. Please make sure you have a map and/or GPS with you so you can return safely.
  • Beach Entrance Pass:

  • Pawtuckaway State Park is located on Pawtuckaway Lake in Nottingham, NH. This park boasts a 600 foot beach and large shaded picnic area, ideal for picnicking, a large swimming area and is popular for fishing along the lake. There are grills and picnic tables located throughout the picnic area.

  • Important Information:

  • Park is carry in carry out, you must take all your trash home with you.
  • Music must be kept at low volume.
  • Trails may be icy during the spring season. Microspikes are recommended during these times.
  • Cancellations

    Cancellations MUST be made prior to 9AM of the day of your visit. There will be no refunds due to weather, insects, or failure to attend the park without prior notice. Refunds requested for extenuating circumstances must be submitted to: nhparks@dncr.nh.gov where they will be evaluated on a case by case basis.

    Beach Advisories

    Please be aware that beach advisories occur unexpectedly during the summer months. Prior to your stay please check for beach advisories posted by the Dept. of Environmental Services by visiting:

    Advisories are updated daily. Any cancellations or changes to a reservation need to be done through Reserve America and cancellation fees will apply.

    Lifeguards

    There are no lifeguards on duty. Swim at your own risk.

    Pet Policy

    Pets are only permitted on the hiking trails at this park. Anyone entering a restricted area with a pet will be asked to leave.

    Off-Season Use

    During off hours and the off-season the park is typically not staffed, comfort stations are not available and gates may be closed. The off-season poses unique risks inherent when participating in outdoor recreational activities. Recreationists should possess the necessary knowledge, skill, and equipment to ensure their own safety. Users assume all risk while recreating in State Park lands.

    NH Senior Discount:

  • Indicate that you are a NH senior on your order details page and you will not be charged the day-use/parking fee. However, there is a $1 transaction fee for using the online reservation system.
  • To receive your discount at our per person fee locations, simply enter the number of qualifying NH Senior Citizens in the vehicle/occupant information section of the order details page to receive your applicable discount.
