At Odiorne Point State Park picnickers can enjoy sweeping views of the ocean and rocky shore, and explorers can uncover evidence of past military occupation. An extensive network of trails wind through the dense vegetation and traverse the park.
Alerts and Important Information

Park Information

  • Odiorne Point State Park is located in Rye, NH along Route 1A
  • The Seacoast Science Center is now open Saturdays and Sundays 10am-4pm. If planning to visit the SSC, reservations are required to enter and includes access to the park, which you may do at their website: seacoastsciencecenter.org
  • No surfing.
  • Restrooms are available from 8AM-5PM
  • The Gates are open from 8AM-6PM
  • The Boat Launch Entrance will be open Friday-Sunday 8am-4pm
  • Access to the Sandy Beach area is dependent on Low tide.
  • The use of drones and metal detectors are prohibited.
  • If you choose not to purchase an advance pass, we will be setting aside a limited number of parking spaces for pre-paid and discounted access based upon historical use.
  • Trails may be icy during the spring season. Microspikes are recommended during these times.

  • Cancellations

    Cancellations MUST be made prior to 9AM of the day of your visit. There will be no refunds due to weather, insects, or failure to attend the park without prior notice. Refunds requested for extenuating circumstances must be submitted to: nhparks@dncr.nh.gov where they will be evaluated on a case by case basis.

    Pet Policy

    Pets are not permitted at this park. Anyone entering with a pet will be asked to leave.

    Off-Season Use

    During off hours and the off-season the park is typically not staffed, comfort stations are not available and gates may be closed. The off-season poses unique risks inherent when participating in outdoor recreational activities. Recreationists should possess the necessary knowledge, skill, and equipment to ensure their own safety. Users assume all risk while recreating in State Park lands.

    NH Senior Discount:

  • Indicate that you are a NH senior on your order details page and you will not be charged the day-use/parking fee. However, there is a $1 transaction fee for using the online reservation system.
  • To receive your discount at our per person fee locations, simply enter the number of qualifying NH Senior Citizens in the vehicle/occupant information section of the order details page to receive your applicable discount.
