This site accepts requests for a Special Activity Permit Alcohol Supplement that, if approved as part of a Special Activity Permit, would allow alcohol to be served at this location as part of your event. To request permission for an event at this facility, fill out the forms at https://www.ncparks.gov/hours-fees-and-permits and contact the park directly.
Firearms (including fireworks) and other weapons are prohibited.
Osprey and Kingfisher shelter users are required to transport and deposit their garbage into a dumpster located about 300 yards from the shelter
Gates lock at specifc hours posted upon entering the park throughout the year.
Pets are allowed except in park buildings and swim areas, but they must be on a leash no longer than six feet and cannot be left unattended.
Special activity permits are required for special events like weddings, bike events, festivals, etc. Please contact the park office for further information.
Unlicensed vehicles, unregistered motorcycles, golf carts, ATV's and mini-bikes are prohibited with the exception of mobility-aid devices used by a mobility-impaired person. All vehicles are prohibited from walkways, trails and other areas not designated for such purposes.
