Regular occupancy is the number of people that can be accommodated for the beds/futons available in the cabin. Maximum occupancy is the absolute maximum number of people allowed to stay in the cabin. If the maximum number of occupants is greater than the regular occupancy, the renter is responsible for providing sleeping accommodations for the additional occupants. Regular occupancy is 6 and maximum occupancy is 6.
Renters must provide their own bedding, fitted sheet for futon, pillows, towels/washcloths and other toiletry items, cooking utensils, dishes and some cleaning items such as paper towels, dish soap, etc.
Due to the futon slipcover material which is faux leather, it is recommended that a fitted full size sheet is brought to cover the futon.
Renters are responsible for adhering to general use rules for this facility and cleaning the facility prior to vacating. Some cleaning supplies such as mops, brooms, vacuums, cleaning agents will be provided. A complete list of the general rules and cleaning procedures can be found on the Iowa DNR website.
Renters are expected to abide by all facility use rules and cleaning procedures for the facility. Failure to review these items could result in cancellation of your reservation and forfeiture of reservation transaction fees.
Renters are responsible for cleaning up after their pets including pet hair in the facility and excrement outside. Please place fitted sheets over futons to reduce the amount of pet hair on furniture. Pets are not allowed to run at large and should be kept on a leash or confined when outside the cabin/yurt. Please do not leave pets unattended in cabins. Pet owners are financially responsible for any damage caused by pets and any extra cleaning resulting from pets.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is not responsible for items that are lost, stolen, or become damaged. Renters are financially responsible for any damage to state park property or extra cleaning that may be required.
Emerald ash borer (EAB) has been confirmed in a number of counties throughout Iowa. As a result, the entire state of Iowa is now under state and federal firewood transport quarantines. It is in direct violation of the federal quarantine to transport firewood from a quarantined area into a non-quarantined area. Park visitors are cautioned not to transport firewood across county lines in Iowa or across state lines since the movement of firewood throughout Iowa or to other states poses the greatest threat to quickly spread EAB even further. Do your part to help prevent the spread of EAB and other woodland pests. Please consider buying firewood locally near the park you are visiting and burn it all during your stay. For more information about EAB and the federal firewood transport quarantine, visit: Iowa DNR website.

Cancellations less than 15 days prior to the arrival date will result in a forfeiture of two night's/day's rental fee and tax plus the cancellation fee. If the cancel fee plus the forfeiture amount exceeds the total amount of fees originally paid, DNR will not collect any additional money.
Note: The arrival date cannot be changed to a later date without losing the entire reservation when the departure date remains the same. However, the arrival date can be changed to an earlier date If the arrival and departure dates of the entire reservation change, that is allowed.
