This yurt is in the backcountry and must be hiked or biked to.
Plan accordingly and arrive with enough daylight to reach the yurt.
There is NO WATER located directly at this yurt. Water must be carried in or can be pumped and filtered, at camper's own risk, from Thurmon Creek in route to the yurt. In the winter, snow must be melted and purified or carried in.
Yurt is equipped with a wood stove, propane stove, propane lantern, and two bunks (twin over queen).
Campers must bring their own propane canisters (one pound, green Coleman type), bedding, and cooking gear. Wood for the stove is located under the deck. Please check the yurt manual for additional information regarding the camp stove, lantern, and wood stove.
Your reservation includes the daily Motor Vehicle Entrance Fee (MVEF) for only one (1) vehicle. All other vehicles must pay upon entrance to the Park.
An additional winter access fee ($6.00/person/day) is required during trail grooming season (Approx. December 1st-March 15th).
Save money by purchasing a SEASON PASS through the Visitor Center!
You will be emailed 4 days prior to your arrival with your access code. You will need to have this code to enter the facility at any time, keep it with you. If you do not receive this email, check your junk/spam folder first, then contact Park Staff at 208-558-7368.
Please do not feed any wild animals. It can lead to the animals chewing or tearing the yurt skin.
You are in Bear Country! Be Bear Aware.

There are no landline telephones readily available, and cell coverage can be spotty. The park office is over 3 miles away and is open 9am - 5pm, (208) 558-7368. Rangers do live onsite and are housed in the Ranch Foreman's House and historic Ranch Office. In a medical emergency call 911.

Yurt is approximately 1.5 miles from the Ranch View parking lot area and follows the Meadow Loop trail, and is located near trail intersection sign #17. You will leave the Ranch View parking lot and take the paved trail through the historic ranch buildings. At the end of these buildings, the trail turns to dirt/gravel and continues north past the barns. In a half mile, at trail intersection #16, bare left (West) and continue three-quarters of a mile, passing over Thurmon Creek, and on to the yurt. The yurt is located approximately 150 ft. northeast of the CXT vault restroom. Trail maps are available on line, and at the park office, and trail map signs are posted at every intersection.
