EMERGENCY / NIGHT INFO
The front park entrance gate locks at night. Gate combination will not be given out. All guests not staying overnight will need to be out before closing time. Overnight guests cannot exit gate until opening time. If you have a medical emergency call 911. The 911 dispatchers can call rangers and EMS over the radio to assist you. If cell signal is poor, an emergency landline phone is located in the campground at the Self-Check-In Kiosk. A Camp Host is stationed at campsite 42. This is a volunteer that serves as a point of contact for you during the night for emergencies. Free Wi-Fi is located on the deck and parking lot in front of the Visitor Center and does not require a password.

Hanging in the kiosk is a pink mirror pass assigned to your reservation. Place your pink mirror pass on your vehicle rear view mirror and proceed to your assigned site. Each vehicle staying overnight MUST have a pink mirror pass. Vehicles without pink mirror passes could be cited and towed. Extra pink mirror passes are available at the kiosk.
Cabin check-in is at the Visitor Center until 4:45 PM. After 4:45 PM your key and mirror pass will be in your cabin door. Check-in time for cabins is 4 PM. Check-out time for cabins is 10 AM. Each vehicle staying overnight MUST have a pink mirror pass. Vehicles without pink mirror passes could be cited and towed. Extra pink mirror passes are available at the kiosk. To check-out of cabins simply leave your key on your kitchen table.

SWIM FEES
Swimming beach is open Memorial Day through Labor Day most days except Tuesdays and Wednesdays for a fee. All campers, group campers, and cabin guests must pay the swim fee separate from their reservation. The reservation does not include swimming costs.
RV INFO
Most campsites can accommodate an RV, 5th wheel, or travel trailer but due to tree proximity slide outs cannot be used. Some campsites are extremely difficult to back a large RV onto due to terrain/trees/roadside ditches. These campsites are original to the 1930s and were not designed for large RVs.
TENT INFO
Each campsite has a “tent pad” designated for a standard size tent to be set up on. Oversize tents may be set up on the ground in close proximity. Hammocks are allowed as long as they don’t damage trees. Backcountry camping is not allowed. Tents are not allowed in cabin area.

Pit toilets (outhouses) are available year-round near Group Camp sites 1 & 5. The park sometimes closes during adverse winter weather. Please contact the office for updated weather information. Cabins are open and have water year-round. Flush toilets are available at the Visitor Center year-round.
HOOKUP INFO
There is no dump station. There is no electricity at any campsites. There are no water spigots or sewer hookups at any campsites. Water spigots are located along the road shoulder throughout the campground and group camp. GROUP CAMP INFO
The gate to the group campsites will NOT be open to drop off or pick up camping gear. Campers must walk 10 - 100 yards to their group campsites from the Group Camp gravel parking lot with their camping gear. Site 1 is the closest site to the parking lot and site 5 is the furthest. There are no showers at Group Camp and use of family campground showers is not allowed.
FIREWOOD INFO
Bring your own firewood or purchase on site from Visitor Center or Camp Host site 42. Building fires in undesignated areas is prohibited. All fires must be contained in fire rings or grills. Collecting firewood is prohibited by law.
ALCOHOL INFO
Alcoholic beverages are permitted ONLY inside the campsites and cabins. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in Group Camp. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited by law in all other park areas. Being intoxicated in a state park is prohibited by law.
PET INFO
Pets are prohibited in cabins, beach, and inside park buildings. Pets are allowed in all other park areas but must remain on a 6’ maximum length leash and under constant control of the owner.
CABIN CONTENTS INFO
Each cabin has two bedrooms with two twin beds each. Cabins 1-6 have a Queen sleeper sofa in living room, Cabins 7-10 have a Full sleeper sofa in living room. Cabins have central heat and AC, screen porch, full bathrooms with flush toilets and showers, full kitchen with fridge, oven, microwave, coffee maker, sink, pots, pans, silverware, dishes, and utensils. Furnishings include sofa, cushioned chairs, dining table for six. Charcoal grills and picnic tables are outside, as well as communal fire rings. GUESTS MUST SUPPLY THEIR OWN BED AND BATH LINENS, BLANKETS, PILLOWS, FOOD, TOILETRIES, PAPER GOODS, COFFEE FILTERS, SPONGES, DISH SOAP.

North Carolina state park rules and regulations are posted in each park and enforced by rangers. A copy is available at the Visitor Center, the courthouse, and online for perusal. Violating these rules and regulations is a misdemeanor and may result in a fine, revocation of permit, and up to criminal prosecution and jail. Reservation holder will be held accountable for property damage.

There is a 2-night minimum stay for cabins year-round. There is a 7-night minimum stay for cabins during peak summer season.
Each cabin has a charcoal grill. There are 4 campfire fire rings shared by the cabins. All cabins have a screened-in porch, heating and air conditioning and are fully furnished.
